Popular American Christian rapper, Lecrae has just bagged two sensational awards at the just concluded 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards event held yesterday, the 4th of February 2024. He was awarded for the Best Contemporary Christian Music Album and the Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song. The Award was for his 2023 Blockbuster Album – Church Clothes and his song, Your Power.
Lecrae was in attendance to receive the awards and said he didn’t expect to win. He was joined onstage by his beaming daughter. In His acceptance speech, he expressed his joy in front of everyone expressing his gratitude to all who put in the effort to the project and thanking God for the gifts he has given that enabled him to put together this work of art. He also expressed his gratitude via an Instagram post, and it was welcomed with congratulatory messages from several gospel artists. He said:
“I haven’t fully processed it all yet. I’m grateful but it’s really something beyond my understanding. I just wanted to be the father I never had and give my kids experiences. God is beyond kind. Once I have more words I’ll share but for now… Thank you God for being gracious. Thank you Jesus for allowing me to be a part of your kingdom and using broken instruments to play healing music.

Lecrae now has a total of 4 GRAMMY Awards and 9 Nominations in total.
He’s previously won Grammys in those same categories: best gospel album in 2013 and best contemporary Christian music performance/song in 2015.
“Church Clothes 4” is the final instalment in a mixtape series that kicked off in 2012. Lecrae was featured in the movie musical “Journey to Bethlehem with Antonio Banderas.
He continues to mesmerize audiences with his amazing work of art in gospel music.
