Matthew 17:20
[20] And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
#A. HEAD 🧐
1. OBSERVATION (What do I see?)
– Jesus said unto them
– Because of your unbelief
– Verily I say I say unto you
– If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed
– ye shall say …
– and it shall (be)
– and nothing shall be impossible unto you
2. What does it MEAN?
– Jesus said unto them: This is an authority figure whatever He says is final, whatever He says is law, whatever He says is supreme.
– Because: This brings into limelight that there is a context that needs to be considered. The context is: the disciples couldn’t heal a boy who was being lunatic; he falls into fire and even into water. Jesus rebuked an evil spirit in performing this healing; so, it infers that the sickness was an effect of a demonic oppression/ possession. Hence, the disciples came to ask a question on why they couldn’t help the boy when he was first brought to them before Jesus arrived.
– Because of your unbelief: Jesus said the issue was unbelief.
Unbelief – apistia – unfaithfulness, faithless, want of faith, unbelief, weakness of faith.
Something made them doubt they can do it, this wasn’t the first time they were casting out demons nor healing the sick; but still they had unbelief within them, they had doubts. Definitely, they knew the power of God, they had faith in the power of Christ because they have operated in it before (Matthew 10); but an element of doubt still became a snare for them, hindering the power of God from flowing through them.
– Verily I say unto you: Verily means surety, a fact, truth, true talk, something real. In short Jesus is saying, believe what I am going to say next.
– if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed: Jesus says faith doesn’t require quantity, whether big or small; what is just need is faith even though the faith is small. Jesus is saying the faith that you have is exactly what is needed, you don’t need a bigger faith.
– ye shall say …: Jesus said that authority and power is demonstrated, used, put into effect through words, by speaking. When I see the mountain, sickness, demon, problem; I speak to it, and say headache be remove…
– and it shall (be): And it shall leave, it shall be removed; that which has being said. The operation of the demon would be stopped, the pain would be gone. By putting that faith that we have received upon salvation into work, it transforms every single thing according to the will of God.
– and nothing shall be impossible unto you: Nothing! nothing at all! nothing in heaven and on earth, anything we cast, or bind obeys according to this same principle.
3. What stood Out/ What issue is God Raising with me Today?
– Since Jesus says that a mustard seed faith is just enough; then more efforts should be placed in watching and praying against unbelieve. Take heed that you fall not into unbelieve, watch, be careful, be sensitive against things that inspire fear, doubts, anxiety… for they weigh against faith, they don’t make it work.
#B. HEART: What is my ATTITUDE ❤ (Checking my attitude against the issue raised) / (How does the understanding of this truth makes me feel?)
– It is because of your unbelief.
°How do I allow unbelieve?
°How do I watch against unbelieve, do I censor the things I hear, see, taste, feel and smell?
°How do I sanctify my mind to be preserved from unbelieve? Romans 12:2
– I will take steps, I will use my faith, I will heal the sick, I prepare my mind to send any demon away when I see it, I always warm up, I chant God’s word like soldiers sing to raise moral, that I would operate in power whenever I see any mountain that must leave for God doesn’t want it there.

– I pray for every individual that would come in contact with this word, you are healed in Jesus’ name, that mountain is moved right now, that tissue is restored right now. You live with sound health and sound mind, no depression, you are able to work hard with happiness and wrought the will of God. (Amen)
– Thank you, Lord, for you word is true, and it out lasts generations. (Amen)
