Silent night, holy night!
All is calm, all is bright

📖 Text: Colossians 3:15

[15] And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. (Colossians 3:15 KJV)

[15] And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. (Colossians 3:15 NLT)

[15] Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. (Colossians 3:15 NIV)

#A HEAD 🧐
1. OBSERVATION (What do I see?)
– Let – Willingness:

– what is the peace of God?

– How can the peace of God rule one’s heart?

– We were called to have peace

– Be thankful

2. What does it MEAN?
📝
– Let – Willingness

+ In this chapter (3) of the letter to Colossae, Paul starts to give instructions, beseeching the church to live as members of the body, setting our affections on things that God values. In this verse (Vs 15), the first word, ‘let’, infers that the instruction that is mentioned here should be done willingly, there should be an agreement with the instruction that is given.

× I renew my mind to always follow the instructions in the Holy Scriptures willingly, for they are given to make me perfect and thoroughly furnished unto every good works.

📝
– What is the peace of God?

+ By their fruit we shall know them; it contains love and joy (Galatians 5:22), it surpasses all understanding, and it can only be received through faith in Christ (Philippians 4:6), it is a function of God’s grace, it is unmerited and undeserved.

× The Peace of God in a person manifest as a state of tranquility, quietness, rest of mind; it is a fruit of the Spirit, it gives room for more expressions of the fruits and gifts of the Spirit. Any other look alike is not of God, it would at best walk in the flesh according to a principle that is not God’s (not God’s principle).

÷ There is a peace from God which has been deposited in every believer through the presence of the Holy Spirit. I have this fruit in the Spirit, I draw it by faith into manifestation living in the peace of God 24/7 (24 hours a day, 7 days a week)

📝
– How can the peace of God rule one’s heart?

+ rule – brabeuō – to decide, to determine, to direct, control, rule. This is literally submitting the heart to be ruled by the peace of God.

× Isaiah 26:3 describes a heart that is ruled by the peace of God. “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee”.

÷ You want your heart to be ruled by the peace of God, trust God, rest on the promises of God, fill your heart with God’s word, that everything you believe is God’s word; abstain from things that distract your heart from focusing on God, regardless of how harmless they are.

• Always remember that whatever you allow to stay in your mind/ heart/ head/ brain, tend to control your body, they give you a distinctive perspective; with which you can use to either limit God or give room for God to flow accordingly to His will. Yes! you can limit what God wants to do in you or through you. (Psalms 78:41)

📝
– We were called to have peace

+ This must always be remembered, God called us to have peace, it is God’s will that we walk in peace, Jesus came to the earth: suffered, died and resurrected, so that we can have peace through Him.

× God wants you to walk in peace, don’t believe anything contrary, anything contrary is against the Holy Scripture, it’s a doctrine of the devil, God wants to see you radiating in tranquility with the peace He has given to us.

📝
– Be thankful

+ Always be thankful, deliberately find something to be thankful for; from personal experience (several experiences), being thankful does give more room for the peace of God to flow through you.

– Thank God for giving us Jesus, thank God for His love, thank God that you read to this point, look at the things around you and be grateful for things you can literally see and feel; it strengthens your faith on things you believe but can’t see nor feel yet, though they are available already through God’s grace.

3. What stood Out/ What issue is God Raising with me Today?

– What stood out for you?

– Studying God’s word, meditating on the Holy scripture does foster the peace of God, I thank you Lord for the peace and tranquility I experience at this minute.

– If you still haven’t experience God’s peace, walk by faith believing what God says; always remember that what you feel or experience is not everything there is, there is peace deposited in you, deposited in the Spirit realm; hold on to God’s word and withdraw from this unlimited supply.

#B HEART: What is my ATTITUDE ❤ (Checking my attitude against the issue raised) / (How does the understanding of this truth makes me feel?)

– How willing am I to obey the instructions in the Holy Scripture?

– What rules my heart? What is the basis for my thought? What is my philosophy of life? Do I make decisions based on God’s word? Do I live my life with a decision to always live peacefully with those around me?

– Do I believe that God has deposited peace in me through the Spirit?

– How thankful am I? What am I grateful to God for?

#PRAYER 🙏
– I thank you, Lord, for you open and enlighten our understanding. I thank you, for you brought your word me, it heals me and save me from destruction.

– I thank you for I am whole and complete lacking nothing. I thank you that everyone reading this will be able to confess this by faith and also rejoice as we experience your peace in unity.
