📌🔆🔅 Disciplined Daily Devotion (3D) Report Tool: 4H Method. 👉 Date: Fri, 01 December 2023 👉 Time: 1:55 PM Focus: Peace 1.3 📖 Text: Philippians 4:6 – 7 [6] Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. [7] And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV)   #A HEAD 🧐 1. OBSERVATION (What do I see?) – Be careful for nothing – but in everything – by Prayer – and Supplication – with Thanksgiving – let your request be made known unto God – And the peace of God – which passeth all understanding – shall keep your hearts and minds – through Christ Jesus. 2. What does it MEAN? – Be careful for nothing: °Be careful – merimnaō – to be anxious, to be troubled with cares, to be bothered, to be worried, to be disturbed. °Hence, the first instruction here is; don’t let anything trouble you, don’t become anxious or worried because of the things you want; don’t let your urgent needs trouble you, even when the need is so glaring. -but in everything: This literally says, have a new approach for how you handle life, have a new philosophy of life, follow this godly approach when you are in need of something, regardless of the level of importance or urgency, let this be the way you live your life… -by Prayer: proseuchē – This simply means a prayer addressed to God; mention the situation to God. – and Supplication: deēsis – a petition, a seeking, asking, entreaty. Hence, it infers that in your prayer ask for what you want. – with Thanksgiving: eucharistia – thankfulness, the giving of thanks, gratitude. Hence, in your prayer be grateful, be thankful even about a request that you are yet to see its physical manifestation. – let your request be made known unto God: Whenever something bothersome, burdensome, urgent or threatening comes up, I don’t let it bother me, rather I pray to God mentioning the situation to Him and what I want, and I pray with gratitude because I have faith that my Father would solve the problem even beyond my imagination. ° This is exactly Jesus’ words in Matthew 6:25 – 34, “take no thought for your life, what you will eat, drink and wear, for life is more than these things… be of faith for your heavenly Father knows you need these things… Instead of worrying for these things, seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things would be added unto you.” (Take a moment to read the scripture because this paraphrase is pitiful when compared to the wealth of wisdom & revelation Jesus shared in this passage) – And the peace of God: A peace that is of God, yeah, I have seen this somewhere🙂; Galatians 5:22 – And the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace… There is a peace that comes from God, a peace that is owned by God, a God patented peace. Nothing else can give this kind of peace, and nothing else is as soothing as this, nothing comes close, nobody can give this peace aside God who gives every good gift – it lasts forever, it transcends into eternity. – which passeth all understanding: It surpasses understanding and even explanation tends to under describes it. – shall keep your hearts and minds: This literally mean being at rest, having peace, being in a state of tranquility, not being disturbed by the 1,000 falling by the right and the 10,000 falling at the left, and the 100,000 that looks as though it would soon fall in the center, where you are standing; because this heart and mind is preserved by the Father, never moved. Hence, I sleep like a baby when the enemy rages like a storm because I know my Father raises a standard against them, I am ever covered from everything. – through Christ Jesus: Because of Jesus Christ, we have the boldness to pray to God, because of the sacrifice of Jesus the peace of God has being freely released to us by grace. 3. What stood Out/ What issue is God Raising with me Today? If I trust God is with me in every situation, that He grants me wisdom on what to do, He chastises me with His rod and guides me with His staff to lead me out of the valley of the shadow of death; then I should not fear any evil because the Lord is with me. I must learn to totally lean on the Lord and handover all my worries to Him for He cares for me and has all that is required to give me rest. At times, the reason you don’t experience the peace of God is because you often/always worry about stuff; try to just breathe and continue breathing (to stop your brain/mind from worrying), pray to God, and continue breathing deliberately mediating on the fact that the Father has all it takes to solve every and any problem, His solution is always the best. #B HEART: What is my ATTITUDE ❤ (Checking my attitude against the issue raised) / (How does the understanding of this truth makes me feel?) – How much do you trust the Father? – How can I trust the Father, how do I learn to trust the Father? Don’t let this question be another subject to worry about. Yeah! keep it in mind, pray about it, continually study and meditate on God’s word; all of a sudden, you’ll just realize that the peace of God is flowing through you, and you’ll keep being refreshed even when everyone around is troubled, it flows in a realm where we walk by faith and not by sight. – I am not experiencing God’s peace, what can I do? There isn’t 1,000 ways to enjoy God’s peace, it comes because of the grace of God, God gives it to us freely; but what we do (e.g. praying, thanksgiving, studying God’s word) put us in a position where we can receive God’s grace (God’s peace), allow God’s grace flow through us from the Spirit into our heart and mind. As we grow in Christ, God keeps opening our eyes to what we should do from time to time. But it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy God’s peace right now, because it is a package freely given to us, just pray and receive by faith. – Lord what do you want me to do? ° God told me to breathe and rest for what I seek He has completed; what is God saying to you? God might need you to forgive, love, ignore some problems, take a step or reveal something that is hindering you from manifesting this peace that God has freely given. ° What is God saying to you? #PRAYER 🙏 – I thank you Lord for your word, I pray that this word bears much more fruit in my heart. – I drop all my worries and hand them over to the Lord, I give room for the peace of God to flow through me. The peace of God starts to flow through me right now. (Amen) – The eyes of my understanding in enlightened, I become much more aware of what I get to enjoy in Christ, and I walk in this goodly inheritance without any hindrance. – I thank you Lord for your grace that is bestowed upon me (every mankind), you knew me before I was born and provided every single thing that I would need that I may live life with life in abundance, without lack, but fullness of comfort, satisfaction, joy and happiness. (Amen)
