You Know My Name

Lyrics: You Know My Name

[Verse 1]
{He knows my name} [x4]
And oh how he walks with me
Oh how he talks with me, yea
Oh how he tells me
That I am his own
{You know my name} [x4]
And oh how you comfort me
And oh how you counsel me
It still amazes me
That I am your friend

[Verse 2]
{So now,
I pour out my heart to you
Here in your presence
I am made new} [x2]

[Chorus]
{You know my name} [x4]
And oh how you walk with me
Oh how you talk with me
Oh how you tell me
That I am your own

[Verse 3]
Oh, God you know me
So I trust you with my life
Oh, No fire can burn me
No battle can turn me
No mountain can stop me
Cause you hold my hand
I’m walking in your victory
Cause your power is within me
No giant can defeat me
Cause you hold my hand

[Bridge]
{No fire, can burn me
No battle, can turn me
No mountain can stop me
You hold my hand
Oh I’m walking, yea,
In your victory
Cause your power is within me
No giant can defeat me
You hold my hand
Cause you hold my hand} [x2]
{You hold my hand} [Repeat]
{You know my name} [x4]

[Outro]
Oh how you walk with me
Oh how you talk with me
I’m in love with you Lord
Oh how you talk with me
Just to commune with you
Oh how you tell me
That I am your own

Focus: Peace 1.4

📖 Text: Psalm 4:8

[8] I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety. (Psalms 4:8 KJV)

[8] In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety. (Psalms 4:8 NIV)

#A HEAD 🧐
1. OBSERVATION (What do I see?)
– In peace I will lie down and sleep
– for you alone, Lord
– make me dwell in safety

2. What does it MEAN?
– Context: This is a psalm of David; it contains a prayer that themes on seeking help and relief from the Lord. In this same psalm he boasts in the Lord as a God that never fails and a God that always supplies his needs; all this David expressed in this and concludes with this verse (Psalm 4:8 is the last verse in the chapter).

– In peace I will lie down and sleep: After praying, boasting in the Lord, making a request again and speaking of the ever graciousness of God; He goes next to lie down in peace and sleep. This signifies a rest of mind, an exhibition of an absolute trust in God to always intervene in every situation. Pray, give thanks, rest your mind and be at peace.

– for you alone, Lord: This shows that He seeks only one option, only the Lord. After praying, the next thing is not to start trying all the available options, rather if anything should be done at all, it should be done in lieu of God’s inspiration, God’s guidance, God’s instruction through the Holy Scriptures and the Holy Spirit.

Don’t go around attempting all the available options, if you trust in the Lord then use only the options of the Lord. The Holy Scriptures makes us wise to know the options of the Lord, it doesn’t only make us wise unto salvation, but it also makes us wise unto the principles in which God operates and God confirms His words with peace in our heart as we follow through and ultimately with a result that is beyond man’s understanding.

– make me dwell in safety: I should always see the Lord as the one that makes me dwell in safety, gives me sound sleep, gives me sound health, the one that gives me financial freedom and prospers the work of my hands (I must always remember this and appreciate the Lord for this every time).

This is exactly the same words in Psalms 127:1 – 2

[1] (A Song of degrees for Solomon.) Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

[2] It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
(Psalms 127:1-2 KJV)

3. What stood Out/ What issue is God Raising with me Today?
– After praying rest your mind, sleep comfortably, totally hand over the ship’s wheel to the almighty God, and be at peace even while the storm is raging because God is bigger than every storm that may come up.

– God alone, don’t seek every opportunity that comes your way, intentionally and deliberately live life according to God’s instructions and commandments; I’ll do this because God is the one I trust. I will never pattern my life according to the worldliness in the world nor uphold worldly principles, never will I seek molten goats and calves, I will never seek idols. (Verily verily 😂, through Christ I (every believer) have much more power and authority than all of them put together)

#B HEART: What is my ATTITUDE ❤ (Checking my attitude against the issue raised) / (How does the understanding of this truth makes me feel?)
– I want to go and lay my bed, I want to sleep over a problem because I have prayed about it accordingly to God’s will and He said I should rest my mind. I considered it solved.

– I renew my mind to not seek every opportunity that comes my way, I trust God, so I would wait for His directions on every step I take.

#PRAYER 🙏
– I thank you Lord because you love me, I thank you Lord because you have ordained that I live in everlasting peace and tranquility.

– I thank you that through the Holy Spirit, I can hear you speak and guide me on every step you want me to take. Thank you, my everlasting Father, your name is highly exalted. (Amen)
